Teachers in Ondo State under the umbrella of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) and the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS) on Monday expressed displeasure at the alleged poor treatment being meted to them by the government.

The complaints of the teachers were presented by their leaderships during the celebration of World Teachers Day in the state.
Though the two teachers’ bodies held the event simultaneously at two venues, their grievances were similar with each of them calling on the government to address their complaints without delay.

The State Chairman of the NUT, Comrade Ojo Fanimomokun in his speech lamented, among others, late payment of salaries, especially to teachers in primary schools.
He decried the situation whereby the office of the State Accountant General always push the salaries of primary school teachers last every month.
